Seminar on Special Zones for Reconstruction for Foreign Private Companies

The Reconstruction Agency hosted a special briefing for foreign private companies and diplomatic corps in Japan on 23rd March 2012. This seminar was organized in cooperation with the Cabinet Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), to promote private foreign direct investment in the disaster areas in aftermath of the Great East Japan Earthquake.
Mr. Yoshinori Suematsu, State Secretary for Reconstruction, made opening remarks by explaining the current status, policies and measures for reconstruction taken by the Government, especially incentive measures on promotion of direct investment in the disaster areas. The five prefectures in the affected areas were invited to make their presentation on their policies and measures to promote investment as well as their strong points.
